Wags to Riches…To Court

It appears that the manager of a Hoover pet store, Wags to Riches, is headed to court on April 28th, charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty.

The manager of Wags to Riches, a pet store in Hoover’s Patton Creek shopping center, was arrested today on misdemeanor charges of cruelty to animals and failure to burn or bury a dead animal, a city official said.

The owner of a Hoover pet store arrested Wednesday said today she loves animals and is confident she will be cleared of misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty and failure to burn or bury a dead animal.

She said she is the victim of revenge by disgruntled employees, one of whom was fired for neglecting animals and not doing her job.

The complaint accuses Manning of not taking a sick dog to the veterinarian on Saturday. The dog later died at the Wags to Riches store, the complaint says.

The Complaint August 2009
