A new day, a new adventure, a new opportunity!

I have been mulling-over doing a blog for some time. Having long felt that more voices were needed for all animals in the Birmingham, AL area, I am taking the plunge. Here I will share my thoughts, based in the perspective of protectionism, preservation, and respect of animals, with the intention of bringing truth and education to a wide-ranging discussion.

Thoughtful comments are welcomed. Rants and rages are not.

From: ALABAMA SHELTER ANIMALS ALLIANCE (FACEBOOK)I invite all Alabama residents, who care about the fate of abandoned and discarded companion animals, to join in a voice for the thousands of animals impounded in Alabama Animal Facilities, public animal shelters. These homeless and abandoned animals have done nothing to deserve suffering in substandard facilities or by cruel and untrained managers and staff. Above all, they don’t deserve to be murdered in gas chambers (Carbon Monoxide), Forced into Metal boxes that are pumped full of gas. A barbaric method used in many shelters in AL, sanctioned and legalized by our state legislature, allowed by citizens. You have only to look at the faces, the eyes begging for mercy, from within these vile contraptions filled with young, old and sick animals, when they scream their last scream and gasp their last breath, to acknowledge the horrific and inhumane deaths we have imposed on innocent animals – by accepting current laws. Thank you for your interest – for the animals.

Can you, please, clarify? Are you referring to ‘animal control’ facilities or ‘humane society’ shelters? Thank you.

I am referring to animal control facilities, which are commonly called “shelters”, public; city, county, and in some cases, state funded.

I had no idea gas-chambers were being used in Alabama! Can you name some locations for us?
